Karl M. Kapp, Ed.D. is a professor of instructional technology at Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg, PA. He has been a Co-PI on grants for the National Science Foundation (NSF), and is currently a senior researcher on a National Institute of Health (NIH) grant. Karl has consulted and conducted workshops for companies like Apple, Cigna, Merck, Novartis, Genentech and others. He works to grow the field by sitting on the advisory boards of several technology start up companies. Karl is author or co-author of eight books on the convergence of learning and technology including the ground-breaking book “
Learning in 3D: Adding a New Dimension to Enterprise Learning and Collaboration” which was translated into several languages including Chinese and Korean. Karl was an early adopter of the 3D world Second Life for learning and taught a graduate course on the subject for several years. He is also author of ten LinkedIn Learning courses including “
The Gamification of Learning.”
Karl is an internationally recognized award winning learning and development professional who has been recognized by the eLearning Guild as a Guild Master and in 2019 received the
ATD Distinguished Contribution to Talent Development Award. The award is presented in recognition of an exceptional contribution that has had sustained impact on one or more aspects of the talent development field.
