I obtained my Master’'s of Education in Indigenous Language Revitalization and have been applying my research to exploring the vital link between Indigenous languages and holistic wellness. I work passionately to support the restoration of our Kwakwaka’wakw worldview encoded in language and helping to provide pathways to create learning opportunities that support the restoration of the guiding principles of wellness encoded in our languages and rooted in Indigenous pedagogy. I work diligently to provide language learning, capacity development and long term employment opportunities in language revitalization for our Kwakwaka’wakw youth and adults. There is a deliberate and urgent need because there is a huge gap in knowledge among this generation that will be a huge impact on Kwak’wala language revitalization. I am also adamant about growing collaboration and networking across Indigenous nations to support language revitalization for low resource Indigenous languages.
