Jule Marleen Krüger
University of Duisburg-Essen Research Associate & Doctoral Student
Duisburg, Germany
I am a 4th year PhD student at the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany with a background in Psychology. In my research I examine how AR can effectively and efficiently support learning. In this, I especially focus on three characteristics of AR, which are framed from a human-centered perspective: contextuality, interactivity and spatiality. I am open to discuss this division of characteristics which I find important to take a more systematic approach to AR-based education and research of it. The study I will present at the conference is a pilot study that focusses on spatiality and how different types of spatial abilities have an influence on the execution of different learning tasks in AR - ultimately underlining the importance of also considering learners' spatial abilities when examining AR-based learning about spatial objects.
